Soapwort seeds were spread around Europe by Friars in medieval times because they believed that this plant had been specially given to us from God to keep us clean from sickness and disease. You can Chop up any part of this plant and boil it in water to make your own liquid soap. It suds and everything! Due to the sapopins I would not suggest ingesting this plant. The soap is soft enough to work on lace and linen, and has decreasing abilities. You can even add other herbs to the liquid like lavander or mint to make it smell good, or rosemary for an all natural shampoo. This comes in 2 oz bags, and includes the leaves, stems, and flowers.
